To AIT διοργανώνει το 4οInnoFORUM με θέμα "Πράσινη Οικονομία: Καινοτομία & Δικαιώματα Πνευματικής Ιδιοκτησίας", που θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 25 Μαΐου 2012, στις εγκαταστάσεις του ΑΙΤ.
«Πράσινη Οικονομία: Καινοτομία & Δικαιώματα Πνευματικής Ιδιοκτησίας"
Σε μια εποχή έντονης οικονομικής κρίσης και κλιματικής αλλαγής είναι μεγάλη η ανάγκη για ένα οικονομικό μοντέλο που προωθεί ταυτόχρονα την αειφορία και την οικονομική ανάπτυξη, ενώ παράλληλα μειώνει σημαντικά τους κινδύνους για το περιβάλλον. Ένα μοντέλο χαμηλής περιεκτικότητας σε άνθρακα, αποδοτικής αξιοποίησης των πόρων και κοινωνικής ένταξης, που παράγει ανάπτυξη, δημιουργεί θέσεις εργασίας και εξαλείφει τη φτώχεια με την πραγματοποίηση επενδύσεων και τη διατήρηση του φυσικού κεφαλαίου. Ένα οικονομικό μοντέλο στο οποίο βασίζεται η μακροπρόθεσμη επιβίωση του πλανήτη μας.
Το InnoFORUM επιχειρεί να διερευνήσει τις προκλήσεις και τις ευκαιρίες της πράσινης οικονομίας. Συγκεκριμένα, θα εξετάσει το ρόλο της καινοτομίας στην «πράσινη οικονομία», οδηγώντας με αυτόν τον τρόπο στη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη, την αποτελεσματική διαχείριση πόρων και την ποιότητα του περιβάλλοντος. Παράλληλα, θα εξετάσει τα νομικά ζητήματα και τις συνέπειες των δικαιωμάτων πνευματικής ιδιοκτησίας που δημιουργήθηκαν από την εμφάνιση ενός τέτοιου «πράσινου» μοντέλου οικονομικής ανάπτυξης.

The 7th International Conference on Combustion, Incineration/Pyrolysis, Emission and Climate Change (ICIPEC) will be held in Seoul/ Ilsan KINTEX, Korea on September 4 - 7, 2012.
It will be held together with several events including Re-Tech (Waste Recycling Exhibition) 2012, the UNCRD meeting, NIER Specialty Workshop, Gyongki-do Province Events etc.

The National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) of India, in association with the Earth Engineering Center of Columbia University, New York, are proud to announce the 1st International Brainstorming Workshop on Waste to Energy in India, on August 24-25th, 2012.
The workshop will be held in Mumbai and will cover a variety of subjects, from the current waste management system in India and its overall impacts, to the potential for the application of WtE technology for solid waste management.

The Earth Engineering Center (EEC) of Columbia University in collaboration with WTERT-Greece/SYNERGIA and AIT Athens Information Technology, are organizing an interdisciplinary event that will focus on state of the art technologies for sustainable waste management.
Columbia University Emeritus Professor Nikolaos J. Themelis, Director of the Earth Engineering Center will lead this one-week intensive course with a team of experts in the sector of waste management from prestigious institutions at both international and national level.
The 5-day workshop addresses novel practice and evaluates the environmental benefits and impacts and the economic viability of:
Recycling | Waste-to-Energy | Mechanical-Biological Treatment | Composting | Landfilling
This is a challenge for professionals in related industries, working in the environment field throughout the region, for government agencies, companies planning and executing waste projects and researchers, university students, as well as anyone wishing to take advantage of their understanding in this field.
